Winter Doesn't Feel So Wrong

It was cold this morning, but I did not stay inside. I wanted to feel the fresh winter air climbing in the windows of my car, I wanted to cut through its grey foggy curls and leave the main road behind, to walk in the dirt. Did not take long. Only 30 minutes away from my current encampment I stumbled upon an abandoned house.  It lays on 20+ acres of land, up in the mountains, overlooking a vast meadow, and its emptiness put me in one of those strange moods. When you start thinking about people who lived here, imagining what might have happened to them, why they left... Who knows how long it's been empty... Some windows shattered, some boarded up, firewood still in the shed, and no one in sight. No sign of life. And I walked the grounds absorbed by this magic alchemy of silence and vacancy.

In Longest, Darkest Nights

December is here, with its longest nights. It never comes alone, always ushering the wrath of agitated shopping, with bells and tinsel and wrapping paper.  My name is Anna, I live in Tinseltown and I'm not that much into tinsel. I like rain.  And today, with rain drops bouncing off my half-opened windows, streaking down the concrete walls of the facade, I'm not in the mood for shopping. I bought what I needed last night. My new teddy bear has no name yet. We are getting to know each other for now and with the perfect backdrop of fog and mist, and rain dancing drumming outside, we are feeling cozy and fine inside.

Stars And Gasoline

Do you love the smell of gasoline?  I do. It reminds me of my childhood days when filling up family car meant we were getting ready to go on a road trip. Sometimes we drove just for few hours, others for days, across Europe to Mediterranean sea.  Smell of gasoline was the promise of adventure and for me, it will never change.

Driving at night, looking at the stars above, admiring their piercing bright light, I wondered where do they go when the Sun comes up? Back then I did not know they spend their days chilling on the sidewalks of Hollywood Boulevard.
